Shandon 8th October

The first round of the Matchplay got under way at Shandon Golf Club at the second outing of the new season. While most golfers where concentrating on their match, one golfer through caution to the win and made very short work of a challenging course. Peter Kelly (PK) got off to a shaky start, scoring just 4 points in his opening four holes. However, he managed to steady the ship and get it back to finish the front nine on a respectable 18 points. But the back nine proved to be no match for the gutsy 27 handicapper who posted a very impressive 4 over gross to score 27 points.
