Your Guide to the Weekend! (IMPORTANT INFORMATION)
Arrangements for our 16th Captain’s Weekend will hopefully be a lot less complicated this year as we just have to get a coach down a greatly improved motorway to Dublin.
The Open Championship is on at Royal Birkdale on this weekend, so we should have great golfing entertainment all weekend.
Here are some essential points to remember for the weekend ahead, which should help to make the trip run smoothly and ensure that everyone enjoys the trip!
Saturday 19 July 2008
EARLY START! A coach will collected us in the Square at 7.00am sharp! It will take our party to Roganstown Golf and Country Club, which is near Swords north of Dublin.
We will have breakfast there before playing the Fourball Betterball competition around this very impressive course and the first tee will be at 11:00am
We will then leave Roganstown around 6:00pm and travel to Castleknock Hotel and Golf Club where we will be staying for the weekend.
Sunday 20 July 2008
The golf course we will be playing Captain’s Day on is actually at the hotel so we simply have to fall onto the 1st tee – no travelling required! Tee off will be at 10:00am.
The Captain’s Dinner and presentation of prizes will then follow in the hotel at 6:00pm.
Monday 21 July 2008
Depart from Castleknock Hotel around lunchtime and travel home to Comber to discuss what happened in Dublin on Sunday night!
As I always say, this is a general guide and I am under no illusions regarding what will actually happen, so as we always say ‘The committee reserve the right to make minor alterations to the above at very, very short notice, so please be on your guard!!’.
