Matchplay Championship 2010

Normal rules of golf apply.

1.Only those members who have fully paid their subscription for the year at or by the first outing will be entered into the draw, which will take place after the first outing of each year.

2.Matches will not normally take place in the months of December and January each year.

3.(i) The matches will be played over 18 holes.

  (ii) In the event of a drawn match, sudden-death play-off holes will be played, starting at the 1st hole.

4.The matches will be played using the full difference of handicap (if any) between opponents.

5. (i) All matches must be played at Society outings without exception.

  (ii) If a Society outing is postponed the matches will be transferred to the following outing.

  (iii) If one or both of the players scheduled to play a match fail to turn up, one or both of them will be eliminated.

  (iv) Members who are drawn as a bye in either the Champion Matchplay Competition or the Plate must attend the outing to progress to the next round.

6.Finalists of both competitions will receive a free outing on Presidents Day. This cannot be transferred to subsequent outings.

7.With the exception of the Captain’s fourball, all matchplay matches will be played at Society outings in the order they have been drawn.

THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO USE ITS DISCRETION, AND WITH PRIOR NOTICE TO MEMBERS, ADD OR AMEND THE ABOVE.
